Quality Nursing Care

We are members of the Registered Nursing Home Association (www.rnha.co.uk) a national organisation which campaigns strongly for high standards in nursing home care and whose members are nursing home owners committed to delivering quality services to their patients.

Our qualified and experienced nursing staff are trained to ensure that residents shall have the very best nursing care and be especially sensitive:

* to nursing and social care at all times, where health can be improved/maintained and rehabilitated where possible

* to ensuring that privacy; dignity is maintained at all times

* to help residents to enjoy life to the full in a relaxed, warm, caring environment where physical, social, spiritual and psychological needs are met

* to encourage residents to participate fully in social and recreational activities

* to ensure friendly and supportive representation is   available in the absence of family or friends

Ashlands holds the Investors in People Award (www.investorsinpeople.co.uk). Everyone agrees that people are an organisation's greatest asset -  even more so when delivering a people-centred and sensitive care service. A national quality standard,  Investors in People recognises our commitment to ensuring that our staff are well trained and qualified to give the very best care.

Meals are an important aspect of daily social life for residents and we provide a fully varied menu to suit all individual choices.   We hold the Confidence in Catering Award - Rossendale Borough Council's Food Safety Scheme which recognises and promotes high standards of food safety and hygiene.

We are also a Preferred Provider - acknowledged by Lancashire Social Services as a nursing home providing quality care  (www.lancashire.gov.uk/social-services/contracts) - click on "Adults" and then "Services for Older People" for more details of this initiative which aims to raise the standards of care available in residential and nursing care homes within the county, and also to assist those care homes committed to continuous improvement and provision of a quality service.  We also contract with other Local Authorities.
