Health & Personal Care: RN (on behalf of his Mother JN) wrote that our Health & Personal Care was “Beyond Reproach”. “Superb in every way”. Daily Life and Social Activities: “Very pleased that mother’s links with the Methodist Church are maintained. Visitors are made to feel welcome and the staff always make good hosts” JK (for mother MS). “Good social activities. Good service tea and biscuits nicely served for visitors. Good Communion Service from St. Nicholas Church with Sue. Around 15 residents and friends also other Services good” (JW) “Everyone’s needs are taken into account”. GH (for AT).

Meals and Mealtimes: “Choice of meals seems to be spot on. Food and drink is an important issue in mother’s life and she enjoys the varied meals provided” JK (for mother MS). “J gets a bit fed up having his meals jellied but it is for his own good as he cannot swallow very well with Parkinson’s, part of their complaint. No complaint about the food” (JW) “Just right.”  GH (for her mother AT).

Complaints, Legal Rights and Abuse: “We have had no reason to raise a complaint but we are well aware of how to go about it andwho to approach if it became necessary” JK (for mother MS). “Just natural to express our thoughts”. GH (for her mother AT).

Premises and facilities: “The family have remarked on how clean and tidy mother appears and always nicely dressed. Hairdressing is much appreciated”  JK (for mother MS). JP (on behalf of his Father VP) wrote: “Quality and standard of house reflects standards within. "I feel I can approach management with any concerns.  My mother’s twilight years have been more than catered for. Ashlands is more than a nursing home - it is my Mum’s home. Her stay at Ashlands has not only brought some order to her turbulent life but has extended and enhanced it"

Mrs C S

"We appreciate the efforts that were made to help Mum to settle and the extra effort that is made on special occasions e.g. birthdays and Christmas"

Mr & Mrs P

"I feel the home (particularly through the Matron and staff) help my mother to maintain her familial role. I have an excellent relationship with nursing staff which enables me in decision making in which my Mother is involved. All the above have given my Mother a much better quality of life taking my Mother's particular needs into consideration"

Mrs J H

"Mum’s home cannot be faulted, all aspects of her care are seen to in a most professional and loving way. I have no doubt whatsoever that it is entirely due to the staff of Ashlands that my mother is still able to be here to enjoy her life. She and her family feel very secure and are all most grateful to you all"
