Funding for care

We provide 24 hour residential care, 365 days a year with highly skilled and qualified nurses, care assistants and ancilliary staff.

Currently our standard fees start at £544 per week, subject to assessment of the individual's needs. This covers accommodation, nursing and personal care. In some cases our fees may be higher if an individual needs additional care and resources.

Fees are payable 4 weekly in arrears.

Some residents may qualify for "Continuing Care" where the NHS will pay all the fees.

Some residents may be able to get help from Social Services towards their fees if they have less than £23,500 capital resources Social services may pay part of the fees. Residents with capital over £23,500 will be expected to pay the full cost of their accommodation For residents with capital between £14,000 and £23,500 an income of £1.00 is assumed for each complete £250 or part of £250 held.  No account is taken if capital is below £14,000.

The resident will have to make a contribution and usually a friend or relative will have to agree to pay a "Top up" as most Councils do not pay enough to cover the full fees.

Most residents will get help towards their fees under the Registered Nursing Care Contribution arrangements from the East Lancashire NHS Primary Care Trust. From 1st April 2009 this is £108.70 per week. 

Most residents will qualify for Attendance Allowance and Basic State Pension which can contribute towards fees.

Funding for care is a complex issue and the above is only a simple guide to what is available.
